This research aims to analyze the performance and role of the Iranian Red Crescent Society—as a highly ancient, symbolic institution influenced by political and social structures—during the Sacred Defense era, based on institutional theory.<br /><br />During the Sacred Defense, Iran's "institutional field" was completely transformed, and the Red Crescent found itself at the center of these developments. Relying on documentary analysis and in-depth, semi-structured interviews, this study seeks to answer the following questions: To what extent did the Red Crescent's performance during the Sacred Defense contribute to its legitimacy at both the national and global levels? The findings of this research demonstrate how the Red Crescent, to ensure its institutional survival and success during the war, aligned itself not with global standards, but with the requirements of a thoroughly national and revolutionary institutional field. In doing so, it simultaneously acted as both an instrument of the state and a symbol of the people's sacrifice. This period served as a pivotal turning point for the Red Crescent, enabling it to mobilize widespread public support and carry out its humanitarian mission in the most effective manner possible. امدادگران و نجات‌گران هلال احمر جزو نیروهای تاثیرگذار و مهم در توسعه امدادی، فرهنگی و سلامتی در کشور هستند. تحلیل عملکرد و نقش هلال احمر ایران به عنوان یک نهاد بسیار قدیمی، نمادین و متأثر از ساختارهای سیاسی، اجتماعی، در دوران دفاع مقدس، بر اساس نظریه نهادی، هدف این پژوهش است. در دوران دفاع مقدس، «میدان نهادی» ایران به طور کامل دگرگون شد و هلال احمر در مرکز این تحولات قرار گرفت. این پژوهش بر اساس مطالعات اسنادی و مصاحبه‌های عمیق و نیمه‌ساختاریافته به دنبال پاسخگویی به پرسش‌هایی است که؛ با توجه به پیروزی انقلاب و آغاز جنگ، عملکرد نیروهای هلال احمر به عنوان سازمانی بشر دوستانه نسبت به استانداردهای جهانی این‌گونه نهادها چگونه بود؟ عملکرد هلال احمر در دوران دفاع مقدس تا چه اندازه توانست در مشروعیت بخشی جهانی و ملی برای این نهاد موثر باشد؟ یافته‌های این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که چگونه هلال احمر در دوران جنگ، برای بقا و موفقیت نهادی خود، خود را نه با استانداردهای جهانی، بلکه با الزامات یک میدان نهادی کاملاً ملی و انقلابی هم‌شکل کرد و در این راه، به طور همزمان هم ابزار دولت و هم نماد ایثار مردم بود. این دوران برای هلال احمر نقطه عطفی بود که بتواند پشتیبانی عمومی گسترده‌ای به راه انداخته و ماموریت بشر دوستانه خود را با بهترین شکل به انجام رساند. https://hds.sndu.ac.ir/article_3971_4b6ccf7af1fb39eb819c0b250290a2c9.pdf
