Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to study the theoretical foundations of population policy in post-Islamic Iran based on two conceptual models of elites and the system. Sustainable development is the most important concept of demographic policy in post-revolutionary Iran, and five-year development plans are a way to pave the way for achieving this goal. However, so far, many internal components and external threats have disrupted the population balance in the country and the ineffectiveness of the policies adopted in this area. The changing views of political elites in the system, the final determination of population-related policies, have made it difficult to achieve a single theoretical basis for these policies. The existing library documents have helped the present researcher to use descriptive-analytical methods and to answer the main research question, the concepts of sustainable development, efficient manpower and dealing with internal and external threats as the main components determining the theoretical foundations of population policy in the form of hypotheses. Introduce the main research.
