Abstract
The first occupier of this land during the mythical period of Zahak Tazi and the last occupier of Saddam Hussein was Ba'athist, who with the support of arrogant governments in the west and east occupied the western to southwestern borders of the country with his troops. The expulsion of such an occupation was due to the support and sympathy of all sections of the people and members of the armed forces, including the gendarmerie. This study provides a brief overview of the role of gendarmerie officers in war. The method of conducting descriptive research and the method of collecting materials referring to sources and documents are written. The result indicates that the first protection fortresses of the country and the first victims of this aggression were the officers of John Berkoff Gendarmerie. During the 8 years of the holy defense, the officials of that organization organized 25 organizational and non-organizational combat battalions and turned the law enforcement units of the operational areas into combat units, causing the presence of the organization's employees in offensive operations. At the same time, with each operation, the task of defense and defense of defensive positions was entrusted to the zealous gendarmerie, and they protected these achievements in the best possible way. The dedication of 17,443 martyrs, veterans, freedmen and immortals is a golden leaf of the proud presence of gendarmerie officers in defense of the national unity and territorial integrity of this land and water.
